![]() ![]() However considering this place is always booked solid the owners really need to start putting some money back into updating/repairing basic items. ![]() They updated bathrooms couple of years ago. As others have mentioned I treat this accommodation like ‘glamping’ and bring all my camping supplies with me - although they do have a fridge, microwave and keurig so it’s nice. Although more roomy downstairs due to this change now there’s no sofa, no kitchen table for eating or a closet for clothes. They need to update the photos and advertising to reflect this as for our grown daughter it was an issue as you lose the privacy of having a ‘separate’ space and we didn’t know beforehand. It basically looks like a regular hotel room inside with two beds in main area. We stayed in an A-frame chalet as usual but big change this year: they took out the stairs to the upper level. Come yearly and it’s just beautiful scenery, lake right outside your door and hiking close by. Where to start? We love the LOCATION of this place. We rented a kayak and paddle board for the day and it was a lot of fun. The first day of our stay it was beautiful, and then the winds changed and the second day was completely hazy with smoke. ![]() But since it was so hot outside, we loved being in it. The lake itself is beautiful but very cold. I understand that we were there during an unusually hot week, but it was quite miserable. I had to go to the front desk and request fans which did help a little, but sleeping was extremely uncomfortable. Since the A frames are all in a line, you only have doors and windows on the east and west side, so even though we (and most everyone else) kept both doors and all windows open, no breeze ever came in. There is no AC and there was no wind at all coming in the direction of the doors and windows. The main problem was that it was EXTREMELY hot! We walked in and could barely breathe. It had a mini fride and microwave and it was a good size. It was clean and it had a bed and futon on the main level and a double bed up the stairs in the loft. The cabin itself was very old and outdated. It seems more like a place for families and large groups to go together. It's definitely not a quiet and relaxing cabin on the lake if you're looking for that. The campgound was right behind us so there were always a lot of people around and many large groups who were quite noisy. Every time the person next to us opened and closed their door it shook the cabin a bit. The chalets have 8 rooms in one unit so it is not an individual cabin. We had a great view of the lake right from our room and it was nice to open the door and be right on the water. We stayed in the A frame chalets that were right on the water. I would probably prefer lake crescent lodge over this one, but this is still a far better choice than those in port angles. Not too much and we enjoyed the 10m extra driving on a very scenic route. Location-wise it's a little detour from 101, which is not bad, but if could add a bit of driving back and forth depending on your itinerary. Not too much cost (as compared to completely remodel these units, which would be even better), but would have made the experience so much better.ġ. It would have so much more potential if the owner puts in a bit of efforts to upgrade basics like carpets, windows, window blinds, shower curtains. This place is a bit out of maintenance and quite old. Staff were very nice and helpful and went above and beyond to address some maintenance issues at in the evening.ġ. The unit is very spacious and have a kitchen with microwave which is very convenient for a remote location like this.ģ. This place is right next to the lake and you can have great view right from your window.Ģ.
